There
are 85.3 million people with a disability in the United States. In the Dallas area
alone, about 300,000 patients with special needs struggle to find dental treatment
as they age out of pediatric dental care. To increase access to care, the Texas
A&M College of Dentistry (Texas A&M Dentistry) implemented a training
program that expands students’ exposure to this population, while also
educating these future dentists in cultural competency and social determinants
of health.
Join
us for this webinar, where Dr. Dan Burch will share how Texas A&M Dentistry
strategically planned and developed a special needs training program by
leveraging existing resources and programs at the institution. During this
one-hour session, we’ll discuss the benefits of this program and explore ways
to both develop and sustain these training programs at your institution.
