Hailed as an innovative leader with a vision for transformative growth, Wylecia Wiggs Harris, PhD, CAE, is the Chief Executive Officer for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the leading voice for health information management, impacting one billion patient visits each year through health data integrity and best practices.
Dr. Harris joined AHIMA as CEO in February 2018, developing the organization’s strategic plan, and advancing its mission and vision, nationally and internationally, to position AHIMA as a global leader. Dr. Harris serves as an ex-officio member of the AHIMA Board of Directors, Nominating Committee, Council for Excellence in Education, and Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management.
Prior to AHIMA, Dr. Harris was CEO at the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS) and the League of Women Voters Education Fund. While at the LWVUS, Dr. Harris was responsible for elevating the national presence of the organization, strengthening brand and impact. Working with the Board of Directors, she created and led a transformation strategy to increase the impact, relevancy, and visibility of the LWVUS and its 700+ affiliates. Prior to her work at LWVUS, Dr. Harris served as Chief Operating Officer of the American Nurses Association, executive director of the Center for American Nurses, and executive director of the Maryland-based Sister to Sister Foundation -- a national organization supporting women’s health issues and heart disease education. Dr. Harris served as senior vice president and executive director at the American Heart Association.
Dr. Harris holds a Ph.D. in organizational development from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota; a master of management degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois; and both a bachelor and honorary doctor of humane letters degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. She is an ASAE-certified executive director and certified facilitator for leadership assessments through the Center for Creative Leadership. Dr. Harris was nominated for the Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT by Health Data Management in 2018 and 2019.
Vicki Loise is chief executive officer for SLAS, the Society
for Laboratory Automation and Screening, a global non-profit organization
dedicated to advancing life sciences discovery and technology. In this
role, she directs the planning, development, and implementation of Society
programs. Other responsibilities include interacting with the Board of
Directors to establish strategic directions; leading planning efforts for the global
growth and sustainability of the Society; and supervising all professional and
contract staff team members.
Prior to SLAS, Loise worked for Kellen, a global association
management firm. As vice president of association management at Kellen, she
provided strategic planning and guidance to international societies, led
business development efforts that increased revenue and raised awareness, and
mentored professional team members in executive-caliber skills. From
2005-2014, Vicki served as the executive director for the Association of
University Technology Managers (AUTM), where she raised awareness of the
association and the profession, while providing strong stewardship and
governance to the organization. From 1993-2005 Loise worked for the National
PTA completing her time there as Director of Development. Loise began her
career in association management with AAOMS, American Association of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgeons, from 1991-1993 in their meetings department.
Loise is a member of the American Society of Association
Executives and Association Forum. She earned her Certified Meeting Professional
designation in 1995 and Certified Association Executive designation in 2005.
She is a graduate of Central Michigan University, having earned a bachelor’s
degree in interpersonal and public communications.
Loise has presented at multiple ASAE events on association
management subjects.
Kimberly Mosley, CAE is the President of the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA), the world’s largest specialty toy association serving more than 1,700 independent specialty toy retailers, manufacturers, sales representatives and toy industry experts. ASTRA is the nation’s only association dedicated to the education and expansion of the specialty toy industry.
Kim has been a leader in the association industry for more than 20 years with experience in technology. Prior to her role with ASTRA, she served as CIO for the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and Association Forum where she served in many leadership roles including serving as chair of the Diversity Workforce Committee. In 2002, she was awarded the Diversity Executive Leadership Scholarship and in 2003, she earned distinction as a Certified Association Executive.
She serves as adjunct faculty for Governors State University in healthcare informatics and serves on the advisory board for Prairie State Junior College. She also lectures, blogs and writes articles on association management and technology.
Ms. Mosley holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Governors State University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago, IL.
